David Will moved to Louisiana with his family when he was 14, and he was immediately captivated by the sights and sounds of the New Orleans music scene. David studied Music Education at Southeastern Louisiana University, where he was named "Outstanding Graduate in Music Education" In 2012. In 2013, he was named "Outstanding Young Music Educator" by the Louisiana Music Educators Association.

 

David's career as an educator helped to mold him into a "jack of all trades." While trumpet is David's primary instrument, he is also often called upon to perform on tuba, trombone, guitar, bass and drums. David has spent the past decade performing on multiple instruments with various brass bands, funk bands, and cover bands in New Orleans. He has also traveled to perform in Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, and the United Kingdom.

 

David joined the Phunky Monkeys in early 2021. You can catch him jumping from instrument to instrument at every show, adding whatever sound is needed to complete each song.
